1. Cloudy Water

A pressure gauge reading 8-10 PSI above normal means the filter is clogged. Backwash immediately or replace the filter media.
3. Short Filter Cycles
Needing to backwash every day instead of weekly means the filter media is worn out and needs full replacement.
4. Visible Debris in Pool
Dirt returning to the pool after filtering means the laterals inside your sand filter are cracked.
5. Filter Age Over 5 Years
